Kickbike Cross Disc 20″

Il a été demandé de développer un modèle capable d’être utilisé pour un usage descente extrême et/ou  pour une utilisation avec les chiens, où les freins sont beaucoup plus utilisés que dans un usage crosscountry standart. Ainsi un modèle avec une roue arrière de 20 pouces et un frein arrière à disque est en cours de développement. L’avantage d’une roue de 20 est également un peu grand choix pour les pneumatiques.

Voici ci-dessous les premières images des prototypes.

Rear wheel: the disc mechanism is nicely “hidden” on top of the rear fork. But how about the possibility to adjust frame height with the disc?

This one (both pics) is produced by Nina Koponen. She got the frame welded by professional bike frame makers “Finnpeak”. It has been in hard test in many extreme crosscountry races including Tahko mtb and Haanja 100km in Estonia. Nina sent this to us for hard testing! Thanks so much!

Tot. weight 9,7kg (standard Cross Max without mudguards 10,1kg, Hannu´s racing Cross with V-brakes 9,0kg, Kai Immonen´s Cross Racer with carbon handlebar, stem, magura hydraulic V-brakes and Magura susp. fork 8,6kg)

Possible problems/questions:

-rear mudguard (should be also professional “kickproof”)

-correct frame height , possibility to adjust?

-tires, size and pattern (should be fast ones, yet good grip)

-what kind of dics brakes?

-front fork? The current standard one is a good option, a more high end one as an upgrade? Possibility to lock to down position at the handlebar would a be very nice feature.
